Beneath the Helmet: From High School to the Home Front is a documentary film that follows five Israeli high school graduates as they are drafted into the Israeli Defense Forces.
The film is a coming-of-age story that explores the young people's personal lives, dreams, and the journey they undertake away from their homes and loved ones. 
The film highlights the values of peace, equality, democracy, and religious tolerance that the young people are protecting. It also explores how the young people see themselves as part of a larger extended family and want to offer support and help
