Dear friends,
This past year has seen many challenges for the Jewish people, with the wars in Israel and the ongoing antisemitism around the globe. These challenges can leave us with feelings of uncertainty. Do I take a step back and go into hiding or do I lean into my Jewish pride and stand firm in my commitment to GROW. At Chabad of Monroeville the choice is clear, we are firm in our commitment to grow with pride!!
Jews of all ages, backgrounds and affiliations have joined this path as well and continue to call Chabad their home for Jewish life and learning. Participation at Chabad in every aspect of Jewish life in the eastern suburbs has seen tremendous growth.
It is this choice that leads to…
Our ever-growing Shul services, of meaningful prayer, delicious Kiddush and friendly comradery, where we come together to connect, to celebrate each other’s joys or mark a Yahrtzeit together.
The future generation of Judaism. With creative children’s holiday programs, “Kids clubs”, offering hands-on Judaism with joy and a Hebrew readers club, educating, and instilling Jewish pride in the next generation.
The special friendships formed at Men’s club Sunday morning BLT and group outings focusing on our commonalities and Jewish living.
The ever-growing Jewish Women’s circle’s programming, where we Live, Laugh and Learn (and eat), through creative events and classes.
The increased focus on adult education. With weekly lunch ‘n learn classes, three 6-week JLI courses throughout the year, pre-holiday classes and a major uptick in one-on-one Torah learning.
Holidays, Holidays, Holidays… Chabad being the center for Holiday celebrations. Offering fun, educational, and interactive programming for youth, Men, Women, families, and the broader community.
The 100’s of hugs and care packages, including, home-made chicken soup, fresh Challah, a prayer book, or hospital packages, lovingly delivered to patients in hospitals, senior centers or at home during their time of distress, or YOU when a “pick me up-boost” is needed, with the message of “you are not alone”!
Ensuring that those less fortunate have their needs covered through the holiday assistance fund and “love packages” alleviate some of the stress.
This year more than ever, we urge you to make the choice and join us in continuing to pave the path of Jewish pride and commitment. Your support is crucial in these efforts. Without you we simply cannot achieve this goal.
Our year-end fundraiser helps Chabad end the year in a fiscally responsible position, enabling us to continue to provide community members with the services and programs that have become integral to their lives.
This year, due to our growth and increased costs in running our community organization, we have taken on an ambitious goal to raise $110,000 in 36 hours and YOU can make it happen!
